Platform height setting tips

To allow models to adhere to the perforated build surface, the platform height must be set. This is the height at which the nozzle is 0.2 mm above the platform.

Instructions for this process are in the manual. This page has some helpful additional information.

  • Ensure that the perforated build surface is installed.
  • If you are using binder clips to attach the perforated build surface to the platform, remove them before leveling or setting the platform height. If the nozzle is moved to one of the table corners close to the table when a binder clip is installed, it will crash into the binder clip.
  • If there is any plastic extending out through the nozzle, the height may not be set correctly. It may be helpful to cut off any such plastic with wire cutters.
  • There is not currently an easy way to measure the 0.2 mm distance. The putty knife is 0.46 mm thick at its edge. This means that when the height is set correctly, the blade of the knife should barely not fit into the gap between the platform and the nozzle.
