Designing
You can design items to be printed using essentially any software that creates 3D models. This includes simple software like SketchUp, mesh modeling software like Blender, and solid modeling CAD software like SolidWorks. The only requirement is that the software can export the 3D design as an STL file.
This website does not cover the details of using design software to create models.
Once you have designed an object, the model should be exported as an STL file that the 3D printer application can import. The file should be exported in units of millimeters.
